Nayantara Devi is a highly accomplished singer and plays an important role in shaping the life of the protagonist Kalyani. “I was completely smitten by the character and it is the closest to my heart. The character of Nayantara Devi appealed to me the most because of the dignity and grace with which it has been written,” Salma said in a statement. “After years of people approaching me, I feel content and confident about this show. She will be seen essaying the role of a famous singer Nayantara Devi. Salma, best known for her roles in films like Nikaah, Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki and Pati Patni Aur Tawaif, will star in the show alongside Amrita Roa, Deepti Naval, Zarina Wahab and Pallavi Joshi amongst others.
